I have already typed this out once, but that is not happening again haha. The past week I have been battling a serious sinus problem *the sinus problem has won*. I have hardly been able to do anything because everytime I go outside and the cold air hits my lungs I lose my breath. It's about time for me to start updating my journal again hunh? Its been forever and a day since I updated with a real update instead of a survey or whatever.

Ive got a crazy couple months coming up.

I have a valentine this year which is cool. I have been on both sides of the fence on this one... not having a valentine isnt much of a loss either. Its probably the dumbest holiday every. I mean if you really care about someone why should you make a point of showing it on this one day. I know that when I have someone in my life that I deeply care for I try my best to make every day special.

Today was interesting.... Went to eat with Jeremey,Virginia, and my mom.... we pull into the parking are of the restraunt and run into Sara and Matt... we all ate and what not... it was so weird knowing that my mom was surrounded by my gay friends for the first time. She really seemed to enjoy herself. She actually bought everyone lunch and seemed to want to go eat with everyone again... woah.... I am really lucky that I have such an open minded parent.

Other things of the day- went to eat with jason *aka*homocop for the first time in forever. I miss seeing him on a regular basis(he's like my gay mama lol).

Started to arrange my room tonight.... I hope I can get it how I want it. I gotta go to bed... school awaits me.

Thanks for the happy birthdays from everyone. You guys are all sweet as can be. I decided I didnt want to have a party or anything this year.... maybe next or sumpin.

On to last night lol..... I went to eat and see a movie with Audrae and Keith. It was the first time I had really gotten to visit with Keith in a long time. Well yesterday I got some sweet tea from Arbys and I noticed it was kinda sour.... just thought it wasnt so great. Well last night about 30 mins into the incredibles my stomach started hurting really bad, so I went to use the bathroom (*gasp* I dont do public bathrooms). I continued to feel horrible so I decided that I should probably leave before I got too sick to drive home. Long story short, I had food poisoning or something for hours and hours. I slept beside the bathroom on the floor so I could run back and forth. For some reason I always get sick on special occasions... this year it was my b-day lol. Its ok though. What doesnt kill us only makes us stronger. I felt bad for getting sick last night.... I never get to see either of them, but Audraes b-day is coming up soon. Im babbling.... Thanks again for all the happy b-day thoughts :-p

Tonight I went and ate with Adam,Austria,David,Jordan, and Sara. The food was great and the company was better. To say the least, I have been having a bad couple months. I was/am beginning to lose faith that things will get better, but tonight my fortune read as follows "You will overcome difficult times." I am obviously in a downer mood, but I can't even remember the last time something good happened in my life. It looks like i'm going to spend another birthday being unhappy. I feel like everything I try is pointless.... nothing seems to work out the way I intended it too and I don't know how to reverse this trend that began forever ago. I can't say that there is anything in my life that makes me happy anymore. I am not overly depressed, but nothing happens to get me excited about going out. I have decided I will not drink for 2 weeks... quite frankly, I have tried to drink away my sadness... not working. I absolutely HATE going out, but if I sit at home or in small groups my mind wanders off into *blahness*. I know we all go through this at points...... i'm over it.... I can't keep dealing with this every 3 or 4 months. I wish I could think of a single acheivement I have had in the past several months.... it's like I am worthless right now.

A Hendersonville police officer was justified when he shot and killed a leashed 60-pound chow after it bit an animal control officer in front of children, Chief David L. Key said yesterday.

But not everyone, including the city's mayor, agrees.

''I am disappointed that this dog was shot, and it appears from the video that the officers had other less drastic options if they had thought ahead,'' Hendersonville Mayor Jim Fuqua said in a statement. ''I have not had an opportunity to discuss this with the Hendersonville chief of police, the city attorney or the officers involved.''

Key said the shooting was unfortunate.

''I hate that the animal had to be put down, but I am thankful that the situation resolved before an innocent bystander could be bitten,'' Key said in a released statement about the department investigation into the incident.

Hendersonville Officer Tim Torok remains on duty; Animal Control officer Amanda Hollandsworth was treated and released at a medical facility, Key's statement said.

According to police and its video, the shooting occurred Tuesday at Drakes Creek Park North, where children, ages 5-7, were practicing soccer.

Hollandsworth was responding to a citizen's call at 5:18 p.m. about a black chow running loose.

Initially, the dog was ''passive,'' said Lt. B.J. Riley, who oversees animal control.

Hollandsworth put a leash on the dog and tried to take it to her truck.

It was then that the dog suddenly ''became vicious'' and bit the animal control officer, Riley said. She had bruising and redness on her leg, he said.

The animal control officer called for backup and continued holding the dog on a leash for three minutes until Torok arrived, Riley said. During that time, the dog sat at the end of the leash and was calm, he said.

The dog attacked again after Torok arrived.

''The dog again became vicious, attempting to bite other officers,'' Key's statement said. ''The police officer fired one shot, in a downward direction, fatally wounding the dog.

''At no time was any citizen in danger during the incident,'' the chief's statement said.

It wasn't clear exactly how many children were nearby at the time of the shooting, although the children apparently were in view and some watched the shooting take place, said David LeMarbre, city parks director.

Riley said Hendersonville policy requires that an officer use the most passive force necessary to subdue an animal.

The animal control officer was trying to keep the dog away from the children, Riley said.

He said the officer did not have time to use a catch-pole, which is a long pole with a loop of wire on the end used to catch animals from a distance.

Plus, he said, leashes are more humane.

''We try to use the most passive method,'' Riley said.

''The leash is easier on the animal when we're trying to catch them. The pole cuts off air circulation.''

Riley said police received calls from residents who were concerned about the police use of force.

Also, witnesses provided statements to police that the dog was not acting vicious at the time of the shooting; other witnesses told Hendersonville investigators that there were concerns about the dog's demeanor, Riley said.

The dog was a chow mix, and its name and owners were not known yesterday, Riley said. The dog did not have a collar. It is being kept in animal control offices for further investigation, he said.

If you plan to register to vote in the Nov. 2 presidential election, state law says you have until Sunday.

But it's not as simple as that.

Election officials suggest that people register by Friday because most county election offices are not open on weekends and most post office boxes do not collect on Sunday.

''It's confusing,'' said Brook Thompson, state election coordinator. ''We don't want people to wait until Sunday and realize it's too late. Our advice is, don't wait until the weekend.''

Three area county election offices, however, will be open with special Saturday hours — Davidson, Williamson and Wilson counties.

If your voter registration forms are postmarked Monday or later, you won't get to vote in a presidential election until 2008, Thompson said.

''Sunday is a hard deadline we cannot extend. We could say the deadline is Friday or Saturday, but if someone gets a postmark by Sunday, we'll process it.''

No registrations are permitted during the 29 days before an election, according to state law.

The Nashville main post office at 525 Royal Parkway in the airport area is the only post office in the Nashville area that will be issuing postmarks on Sunday, said Beth Barnett, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Postal Service in Tennessee.

The office counter is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Mailers who want to drop their voter registration forms in the blue collection boxes in front of the Royal Parkway office should do so by 6 p.m., said Paula McCollum, customer relations coordinator in Nashville for the Postal Service.

Collection boxes at the city's other 17 post offices collect on Saturday, but mailers should check collection times, McCollum said.

Barnett encouraged people not to wait until the weekend. ''The earlier, the better,'' she said.

The state political parties also are telling prospective voters to register by Friday, officials said.

''When we get phone calls inquiring about registration, we tell them it would be smart to do so by Friday,'' said Kim Coots, spokeswoman for the Tennessee Republican Party.

The same is true at the state Democratic Party, spokesman Gentry McCreary said.

New registrations appear heavy this year, as it almost always is during a presidential election year, Thompson said. He did not have an estimate yet.

''This year seems particularly heavy with both Republicans and Democrats and good government groups pushing registrations,'' he said.

Today was quite a nice change of pace from my normal routine. I woke up at 9:30 which meant that I had over slept school(ok because today was optional). I needed today to be a day of nothing but doing what I wanted to do. I have worked so much lately it has been unreal and almost too much.

Around 10:30am I went and walked my dog and fed the cats at my moms apartment.

I talked to Matt at some point, and he told me that him and Sara were going to Green Hills Mall(we saw Andrew and Adamw while we were there). I decided to join them(including Joey) in Watching "Forgotten" (I couldnt go to the movie last night because we had inventory at work *sad face*). The movie was FANTASTIC except I hated the ending beyond possible expression. I need closure with plots and that movie did NOT give me what I need :-p.

After the movie we decided to go eat at P.F.Chang's*or whatever the hell it's called*. Let me tell you that food was delicious and the prices were much more reasonable than I had expected. I can't remember the last time I ate at a restraunt filled with so many damn queers. Perfect example was when Sara and I sat down to wait for our table(Matt and Joey were looking for parking spaces)... I see a gay boy sitting in the corner(wasn't a question of using the gaydar haha).... The person apparently knows sara... we walk to our table and sara asked if I knew who it was???.... nope no clue.... Jordan Kennedy haha... I thought that was funny. It was nice to actually get to eat with Joey and have a conversation outside of a bar setting(cause he's my Larry's special friend :-p). I enjoyed blabbing about random shit as usual over a delicious chicken plate and rice *mmmmmm*.

I arrived home later in the night and got a call from my boss, saying that we had samples at work. I ran to the mall and picked them up and took the time to chat with my friend Lindsey. She told me to come over to Chris and Sams apartment, so I did. I stayed over there for a little bit and went to walk the dog again.

I hope everyone had a great day and all that good stuff. Imma hit the sack here in a second. My daily summary was longer than usual.... it sounded like a checklist haha :-p
